    Let the number of hours Brian travelled = X

    Then the number of hours Anne traveled = 5X + 2

    Since they together travelled 20 hours, then

    X + (5X + 2) = 20

    X + 5X + 2 = 20

    6X + 2 = 20

    6X = 20 - 2

    6X = 18

    X = 18/6

    = 3 hours.

    So brian travels for a period of 3 hours.

    Now the number of hours Anne travelled = 5X + 2

    = (5 * 3) + 2

    = 15 + 2

    = 17 hours.
