    Since they go 2 inches every 5 seconds, that means for every 10 seconds the walking stick moves 4 inches. Since 10*3=30 4*3=12.

    So in 30 minutes the walking stick moves 12 inches.

    2/5 = x/30 ... 2 in to 5 sec = x in to 30 sec

    cross multiply

    5x = 60

    x = 60/5

    x = 12 inches <==
