An arxhitext built a road 4 1/3 miles long. the next road he built was 7 2/4 miles long. What is the combined lenth of the two road?

    You would do 4 1/3 plus 7 2/4 and then to would get your answer which is 11 5/6

    4 1/3+7 2/4=4+1/3+7+1/2=11 + (1/3+1/2) = 11 5/6. For some reason, the fact that the question said 7 2/4 instead of 7 1/2 suggests that you may have misread the problem.
