    -7x + 1y = - 19 ⇒ 14x - 2y = 38

    -2x + 3y = - 19 ⇒ 14x - 21y = 133

    19y = - 95

    19 19

    y = - 5

    -7x + (-5) = - 19

    -7x - 5 = - 19

    + 5 + 5

    7x = - 14

    7 7

    x = - 2

    (x, y) = (-2, - 5)

    You could solve it with elimination by multiplying the whole first equation by - 3 and then once you do that you can cancel out the 3's.
