    3 (4x+6)

Distribute the 3 to the 4x to get 12x and the 3 to the 6 to get 18.

    12x + 18 Simply factorise

    6 (2x + 3)

Applying the distributive property to 6 (2x + 3) it becomes:

    6*2x + 6*3

    So the expression (12x + 18) = 6*2x + 6*3
