A truck heads north at a constant speed of

80 km/h. A car leaves 20 minutes later

heading north along the same road and

travelling at a constant speed of 90 km/h.

Writr an equation that could be used

to determine how much time in hours (t) the car

travels until it catches up to the truck?

    Equation of the travel of the truck: y = 80. x (x in hours)

    equation of the travel of the car : y = 90 (x - 1/3)

    when they meet: 80x = 90x - 30 = > 10x = 30 = > x = 3h

    They'mm meet after 3 hours
