0.3 (r+2) = - 0.1 (-2r-4)

    I would first multiply both sides by 10 to get rid of the decimals:

    3 (r+2) = - (-2r-4)

    We can then expand the brackets:

    3r+6 = 2r+4

    And simplify:

    r+6 = 4

    r = - 2
