A rectangle is 3 times as long as it is wide the perimeter is 44 cm. find the dimensions

    Well!

    First let the length be 'l' and breadth be 'b'

    So, perimeter = 2 (l + b)

    Given that,

    Length is thrice the breadth

    l = 3b

    Now, substitute it in the formula for perimeter!

    44 = 2 (3b + b)

    44 = 8b

    b = 44/8 = 11/4 cm

    l = 3b = 11/4 * 3 = 33/4 cm
