Peter leaves his house and walks 15 m south then he turns east and walks another 15 m how far is he from his house

    Since he turned 90 degrees after the first segment of his walk,

    the two segments together form the two legs of a right triangle.

    And after the second segment, his distance from his house is

    the hypotenuse of the triangle.

    Hypotenuse = √ [ (one leg) ² + (the other leg) ² ]

    = √ (15² + 15²)

    = √ (225 + 225)

    = √ 450 = 21.21 meters (rounded)
