What is the remainder when (3x4 + 2x3 - x2 + 2x - 14) : (x + 2) ?

    f (x) = 3x^4 + 2x^3 - x^2 + 2x - 14

    f (-2) = 3 (-2) ^4 + 2 (-2) ^3 - (-2) ^2 + 2 (-2) - 14 = 3 (16) + 2 (-8) - 4 - 14 = 48 - 16 - 18 = 14

    Therefore, remainder = 14
