An electron is ejected at a speed of 1.7*10^6 m/s from the electron gun of a computer monitor. If the viewing screen is 32 cm from the end of the gun, how far will the electron travel in the vertical direction before hitting the screen?

    Using the equation

    S = vt

    time taken to reach screen = s/v

    t = 0.32/1.7 * 10^6

    t = 1.882 * 10^-7 sec

    Distance fallen due to gravity in this time will be;

    S = 0.5 gt²

    = 0.5 * 9.91 * (1.882 * 10^-7) ²

    = 9.325 * 10^-14 m
