There are a number of factors that influence the rate of reaction including the surface area of reactant, the temperature, the presence of catalysts and the chemical activation energy. In general, heating the vessel containing the reaction will speed it up. This is because at increased temperature the molecules have a higher velocity and are more likely to collide, increasing the reaction rate.
