A horse weighs 5000 n. the distance between the front and rear hooves l1 = 1.8 m and the distance from the rear hooves to the center of mass l2 = 1.1 m for the horse are shown in (figure 1).

    I was able to find the question in which we are to find the fraction of weight borne by the horse's front hooves.

    Let the weight borne by the front hooves be x. We know that because the horse is standing stationary and not rotating about its center of gravity, the moment at the rear hooves is equivalent to the moment at the front hooves. The moment is given by:

    Torque = force * distance

    Distance of rear hooves from center of gravity * weight borne by rear hooves = distance of front hooves from center of gravity * weight borne by front hooves

    1.1 * (5000 - x) = 0.7 * x

    x = 3056 N

    The fraction of the total weight is:

    3056 / 5000

    The front hooves support 382/625 of the entire weight.
