Force of Cohesion and Force of Adhesion

    Explanation:

Cohesion: The force of attraction between two molecules of the same compound is called Cohesion

Adhesion: The force of attraction between two molecules of different molecules is called adhesion

Adhesion of water to glass is is stronger than the cohesion than the cohesion of water. Hence when water is spilled on a clean glass surface, it wets the glass.

Thus The forces of attraction between molecules in a molecular compound are Force of Cohesion and Force of Adhesion
