Which of the following statements regarding the properties of electric and gravitational forces is wrong? Both follow the inverse square law. Electric forces are attractive or repulsive. Gravitational forces are attractive. Gravitational force is significantly stronger than the electric force.

    The only statement that is false is that states that gravitational force is significantly stronger than the electric force.

    If we apply at the same time the Coulomb's Law and Universal Gravitation Law, to two electrons placed at the same distance (let's say 1m), we will find that the gravitational attraction is completely negiglible respect from the electric force (electrostatic in this case), as it is many orders of magnitude smaller, as it can be seen below:

    Fg = G * me² / r² = 6.67 * 10⁻¹¹ m²N/kg² * (9.1 * 10⁻³¹) ² kg² / 1 m² = 552 * 10⁻⁷³ N

    Fe = 9*10⁹N. m²/coul² * (1.6*10⁻¹⁹) ² coul² / 1 m² = 23 * 10⁻²⁹ N
