If the cyclist went from 8.2 m/s to 55.9 m/s,

how long did he accelerate?

    Acceleration is change in velocity over change in time.

    a = Δv / Δt

    4.21 m/s² = (55.9 m/s - 8.2 m/s) / Δt

    Δt = 11.3 s
