Describe a series circuit. What will be the same across all resistors in a series circuit (in terms of potential difference, resistance or current) ?

    Consider all the resistors are connected in series such that the one end of a resistor is connected to another end of resistor. Similarly, the end of the second resistor is connected to end of third resistor and so on. As there is only one battery connection and this is also given to the first resistor and last resistor. The first resistor is the connected to the positive of battery via wire and the last resistor is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. So the current flow will be constant in all the resistors. As the voltage drop will occur in each of the resistors during passing through it. Thus the current will remain constant while the voltage and resistance will be varying with each other.

    So Rs = R1 + R2 + R3 + ... + R4.

    So the value of current will remain constant throughout the series circuit.
