A patio swing is suspended by two springs, each of which has a force constant of 450 N/m equivalent to a single spring forest constant of 900 N/m. Find the mass of a person sitting on the swing oscillating up and down out of 0.560 Hz.

    Frequency of a spring is:

    2πf = √ (k/m)

    Solving for m:

    (2πf) ² = k / m

    m = k / (2πf) ²

    Plugging in values:

    m = (900 N/m) / (2π (0.560 Hz)) ²

    m = 72.7 kg

    Round as needed.
