The nucleus of a copper atom has 29 protons and 35 neutrons. What is the total charge of the nucleus?

    Explanation:

    Neutron has no charge. so the charge on the nucleus is due to sum of the charges of protons and 1 proton has the charge 1.6022*10∧-19 Coulombs (C).

    charge on the nucleus = 29 protons * 1.6022*10∧-19 C

    = 46.4638*10∧-19 C‬

    =4.64638*10∧-18 C‬ (by shifting of decimal towards right)
