The box moves at a constant speed. If the mass of the box is 4.0 kg, and it is pushed 2.2 m vertically upward, the coefficient of friction is 0.35, and the angle θ is 37°. What is the work done by the force, F? Use g = 10 m/s2.

    24.6 J

    Explanation:

    First, we have to find the force F. Since the force must overcome the frictional force, it will be equal in magnitude to the frictional force.

    To find the frictional force:

    Fr = - μ * m * g * cosθ

    Fr = - 0.35 * 4 * 10 * cos37

    Fr = - 11.18 N

    The force F will be 11.18N.

    Hence, the work done will be:

    W = F * d

    W = 11.18 * 2.2

    W = 24.6 J
