    r = 23°

    Explanation:

    given,

    light is incident on the plane surface at (i) = 38°

    the angle of deviation (d) = 15°

    angle of refraction (r) = ?

    angle of refraction is the angle made by the refracted ray with the normal.

    angle of deviation is the angle between the refracted ray with the original path of the ray.

    r = i - d

    r = 38° - 15°

    r = 23°

    hence, the angle of refraction r = 23°
