    Explanation:

    Lest take mass of the objects = m kg

    u₁ = 1 m/s

    u₂ = - 1 m/s

    v₁ = 2 m/s

    v₂ = - 2 m/s

    Initial linear momentum

    Pi = m x 1 - m x 1 = 0

    Final linear momentum

    Pf = m x 2 - m x 2 = 0

    Pi = Pf

    Therefore the linear momentum is conserve. This does not violate law of linear momentum conservation.

    The kinetic energy of the mass gets increase that is why we can say that there is a external source which supplied energy for the both mass.
