Explain the statement "the lower down in the food chain we eat, the greater percentage of solar energy we put to use, and the more people Earth can support" in terms of trophic levels and pyramids of energy.

    Simply we can waste less energy if we lower down ourselves in energy pyramid.

    Explanation:

    It is known that in every step of pyramids of energy, %90 of energy is not transferred to upper step. In other words, from 100J sun energy green plants produces 10J of energy and the cow that eats those plants gets 1J energy. Therefore, in every step of energy pyramids %90 of energy get wasted. Thus, if we lower down in the food chain we eat, the less energy that created from sun is going to be wasted.
