Your physical education teacher has set up a modified shuttle run event for a class competition. From the starting position, you run 14 meters to the east. Then, you turn around and run 17 meters to the west. Next, you turn around again and run 16 meters to the east. Finally, you turn around one more time and run 28 meters to the west to cross the finish line. If eastward motion is positive, what is your total displacement during the shuttle run?

    +14-17+16-28 = - 17+16-14 = - 1-14=-15 ... west, and out of breath
