    speed=v=6.9m/s

    Explanation:

    we know the formula

    s=vt ... (1)

    we are given

    Distance=s=40m

    and

    time=t=5.79 s

    we have to find

    speed = v=?

    from (1)

    v=s/t

    speed=v=40/5.79

    speed=v=40/5.79

    speed=v=6.9m/s
