Comparing and contrasting ionic and covalent bonds?

    Ionic bonding happens with atoms that have opposite things they need for electrons (metals and nonmetals) and results in a transport of electrons. Covalent bonding occurs between atoms that have similar necessity's for electrons (two nonmetals) and results in a sharing of electrons.
