    d = 80 m

    its vertical displacement (in m) after 4 s is 80 m

    Explanation:

    From the equation of motion;

    d = vt + 0.5at^2 ... 1

    Where;

    d = displacement

    v = initial velocity = 0 (dropped with no initial speed)

    t = time of flight = 4s

    a = g = acceleration due to gravity = 10 m/s^2

    Substituting the given values into equation 1;

    d = 0 (4) + 0.5 (10 * 4^2)

    d = 0.5 (10*16)

    d = 80 m

    its vertical displacement (in m) after 4 s is 80 m
