    According to boyle' law,

    P₁V₁=P₂V₂, where

    P₁ is initial pressure, V₁ is initial volume, P₂ is new pressure and V₂ is new volume.

    P₁=50kPa, V₁=5 l, P₂ = 125kPa

    V₂ = P₁V₁/P₂ = 2 l

    The volume of the gas decreases to 2 litres
