    Work = force x distance Work = 3 x 20 Work = 60 Therefore work done is 60 N/m

    Work is done when a force that is applied to an object moves that object. The work is calculated by multiplying the force by the amount of movement of an object (W = f * d)

    For example a force of 5 newtons that move an object 2 meters does 10 N/m work. The unit N/m is the same thing as joule so the units for work are the same as the units for energy - joules.
