    False. Convection currents are caused by temperature differences. Cold air is more dense than warm air, and so the warmer air rises. This creates a lower pressure area into which outside air flows. A similar thing happens with ocean currents. The Moon only influences tides, and although wind may sheer the surface of the ocean, it doesn't really affect currents.
