What characterizes an elastic collision, but not an inelastic collision, in a closed system?

A. Momentum is conserved

B. Total energy is conserved

C. Kinetic energy is conserved

D. No external net force acts

I think it is B.

    You were close, however the answer is C. Kinetic energy is conserved. In elastic collisions, kinetic energy and momentum are conserved. In an inelastic, momentum and total energy is conserved.
