A car advertisement states that a certain car can

accelerate from rest to 70km/h in 7 seconds.

Find the car's acceleration in m/s.

    Acceleration is defined as change in velocity divided by time duration.

    70 kmph = 70 * 1000 meter / 3600 sec = 175/9 meter / sec

    Acceleration = [ 175/9 - 0 ] m/sec / 7 sec

    = 175 / (9 * 7) = 25/9 m/sec²

    = 2.77 meters / sec²
