How did China's culture develop and influence its neighbors in East and Southeast Asia?

China was one of the greatest cultural influences in the East and Southeast Asia and you could say their cultural borders encompassed almost whole of Asia. With the Korean missionaries the Chinese culture and Buddhism spread to China's neighbors, especially to Japan.
