In what ways did americans positively and enthusiastically embrace the new possibilities of urban life, and in what ways did their outlooks and actions reflect worries about the threats that cities presented to traditional american democracy and social ideals?

    Americans were thrilled and openly welcomed the industrialization of America and all the new opportunities and jobs that it brought with it. That said, they were very discriminatory towards immigrants and jumped on board with prohibition which showed they had great concern for the threats that came with city life.

    Americans embraced the industrialization of America by altering their lifestyle into a consumerism and Individualistic lifestyle.

    Those behaviors reflect the fear that Average American citizen have due to the abundance of goods and the competitive nature that Created in Post-industrialized society.
