    As friendships change in middle childhood, children are most likely to demand more of their friends.

    In the beginning, we are only looking for friends to play with from time to time. However, as we grow older and mature, we realize there is more to friendship that playing all the time. This is the moment when we start confiding in them, talking to them more seriously, and overall developing our friendship.
