The word annihilate usually means complete destruction, while decimation either means the same or it refers to the roman disciplinary practice of having nine tenths of a group of soldiers kill the remaining one tenth selected by a random drawing. Eradicate means to completely destroy all of a given group that may consist of people but can also be other things. Massacre on the other hand, just refers to the killing of a large number of people in an event.
