Basic religions are the religions of contemporary people. The seven major basic religions in the world are: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Animism. Primitive religion is a name given to the religious beliefs and practices of traditional, often isolated cultures which have not developed urban and technologically sophisticated forms of society. Primitive religions are oral or verbal, because primitive people have no written or recorded texts. W e speak of basic rather than primitive religions because their ideas and beliefs are concrete and written explained.
