Manifest of doctrine is the ideology that United states expansion up to the pacific ocean governed by the Will of God. However, there was a materialist and idealistic motivation behind it as the expansion brought new lands into occupation and thus there was a need for slaves for the production. The result was new states were added to the territories of the United States and justification was provided for slavery. The term was coined in 1845 in the situation that the United States must spread capitalism and democratic principles to the new lands.
