she would most likely give her mother the piece of pie

    Explanation:

Children's love over foods is a strong factor that determines those which they prefer to eat and those that they are not willing to eat. That is why, some would prefer to eat fish rathan than meat when offered to choose. When not given their preference, the would throw tantrum and cry over it.

In the case of Jaycee, since she was offered the choice to chose between the food she loved most and that she disliked most, it it natural that she would go for that she loves most while handing over to her mother the other one she disliked.

So naturally, she would hand over to her mother the piece of pie not considering whether she would love it or not.

Give the mum the fruit Pie and collect the cupcake.

    Explanation:

Jaycee already understands that her mum loves fruit pie and hates cup cake, she is able to recognize the difference between cupcakes and fruit pie and knows if she gives the mum the cupcake, her mum wont accept it.

Jaycee would collect the cupcake, this is because she already has a common sense of recognition on what she likes and what she doesn't like. She knows that cupcake is more preferable to her than the fruit pie.
