The interaction that happened between them differ depending on each perspective.

From the European's perspective, they came to the new land in hope for new resources. They found out that they have a Technological advantage over local people and believe that It is their duty to 'Teach' the locals the way modern nation should be.

In their mind, the colonization is a mutually beneficial relationship. They European got cheap labors + natural resources and in return the locals could 'learn' new knowledge and technology.

This is different from the Local's perspective.

Most of them saw that they were being invaded by new groups of people and being forced to conform to their way of living. The way they forced the local to work really exploited their time, energy, and resources. In the end, the colonization actually became a hindrance for their development.
