Representation is indirect power in representative democracies.

    Explanation:

In democracy, one of the core tenets is the belief that the representation of the people actually means that they have power. This power is a result of their own ability to choose who is to represent them and make laws for their social welfare.

Although the people do not make these choices for themselves by their own self but the ultimate power rests in their won hands as when the elections happen in a regular interval they can choose the people who best represent what they want.
