The asteroid Hermes is an object in outer-space measuring approximately 2,700 ft in diameter, named after Hermes the Greek God, and it's famous for being the ultimate enduring lost asteroid. Hermes passed Earth at approximately twice the distance to the Moon on 30 October 1937, which in other terms is 610,000 km from Earth.
