The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Pew Research Center projects that when today's young adults reach their mid-40s and 50s, 25% are likely to have never been married. The increasing numbers of adults choosing to remain single impact the future role of the family in society in the following way.

On November 18, 2010, the Pew Research Center published the results of its investigation called "The Decline of Marriage And Rise of New Families." The study concluded that marriage has been declined since the 1960s. In 2008, just 52% of Americans were married compared to 72% in the 60s. Forty percent of the people that participated in the study affirmed that marriage is obsolete. Another important result was that single parents affirmed that they do not need a couple to form a family. They considered that mother/father, and a son, constitutes a family.
