    Dwayne Crompton

    Explanation:

The first African American president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) was Dwayne Prompton. Now a former president of NAEYC, Prompton managed to live his mark on the association, as he was the one that managed to establish the code of ethics for the profession. He was a great professional, and loved his job, being an expert of big caliber for the education of young children. Unfortunately for Prompton, his reign as president of the association lasted for only few months because of health problems.
