Interactive dualism, which was conceptualized by René Descartes, the French philosopher, refers to how the mind and the body are two separate entities but they interact with other another to create the conscious experience.

It is an extension of the mind-body dualism concept, which believes that some phenomenon occurs only in the mind, and some occurs only in the body and the conscious mind does not perceive it. It is an important concept in psychology which has to yet to be proven nor disproven until now.
