    I believe the answer is: Failure to protect participants from harm

    Even though Syphilis can be cured easily, it might create several serious effect including face deformation, neural problems, and blindness. Because of this failing to protect participants from obtaining this virus would be considered as serious ethical transgressions based on ethical principles.
