Reasons why dropping the atomic bomb on japan an inappropriate action

This action is disputed still, but some of the arguments against it include:

- a great number of people, mostly civilians died and killing people should be avoided. It is not clear if continued fighting would result in less deaths

- it gave a dangerous precedence of dropping atomic bombs on the civilian population, and this should be avoided (so other countries, or the US should not try to think that it was effective and repeat it).
