What is difference between scr and triac?

    Thyristors are marked in some circuits as SCR, which is an acronym for Silicon Controlled Rectifier. A triac is very similar to a thyristor, with the difference that it can conduct in both directions. It has three electrodes, called anode 1 (A1), anode 2 (A2), and gate (G).
