    No, The answer is False because it was Martin Luther and John Calvin who broke with the Catholic Church. Both of them were German priests who believed that good works were the sign of faith and salvation. They were both against simony, penance, indulgence and transubstantiation. They also believed that it is following what the Scriptures is the basis of Christianity and not following what the priest says. They never believed in Pope because for them, it is not necessary to have a Pope.
