Saddam Hussein was a real example of a dictator from the Middle east. He had been, before the time when the Americans started the Iraqi war, the leader of Iraq where he was responsible for many attrocities within the country as well as in conjunction with neighbouring countries. He was able to do some pretty nasty things, viewed from today's perspective. These include eradication of whole villages which weren' t the same religious sect of muslims as himself and his ruling family for example.
